What's on my mind this morning?
How the power of one man's implied and displayed actions can so deeply affect not only a country, but the world to respond so extremely. Thus allowing what has been in the dark so long (approximately half a century) to safely come to light.
A few months ago, almost a year, I said I felt that a change was coming, and wow, has there been a change. I don't believe it has peaked or leveled off yet. What's happening now, we allowed. It did not happen over night, but over decades. First covertly, now openly. The signs were there, we heard it's voice(s), but we just didn't listen. Or didn't want to listen.
What signs? Racial profiling; politicians and high ranking legal authorities (Police, local/federal judges, FBI, DOJ, Congress, Senate, and even the White House, at times) have been called out, and sometimes punished for their racial bias.
Every so often, some of the White supremacy organizations would have a rally somewhere that all ready has racial tensions. Why? Their accomplishment at minimum was to publicly let people know they had gone nowhere. In the past, some customarily wore hoods to protect their identities, however, in more recent times, some take off their hoods. Unafraid of any actions being taken against them.
David Duke, a former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, ran not only for a governorship, but a U.S. Senate seat, as well. His not being elected to either of those positions was by no means failures, but a declaration. It demonstrated: 1. That the White supremacy group he had former membership to, was still active; 2. that they were seeking positions of power to obtain their objectives; 3. It tested the nation's reaction to a renown racist seeking out power in a position that has influence over the laws and regulations that govern the people in a state or of a nation; 4: that they can create positions of power and use it to obtain their endgame.
Look at all of the lawsuits in the newspaper, internet and/or television over the years against companies and corporations allegering unfair practices in that they: 1. Promoted people less competent personnel into a higher employment level above them; 2. Unfair compensation or pay because of race, creed or sex; or 3. Allowed an atmosphere that created a hostile environment either racially or sexually preventing them from doing their job competently; and/or 4. Creating lobbies to persuade the government to do their bidding even if it harms a community, race or the nation.
What had seemed to of died off had only quieted down, and sought out the power it needed to accomplish its goals. I am in no way praising racial prejudice, but what's happening in this country today had to of been planned and wasn't quietly accomplished, yet it wasn't loud enough, apparently, to throw out any red flags. Like Superman said in Superman II, ". . . I (we) heard them, but i (we) just didn't listen."
This may have been the way the state of our nation today came to be, methods mentioned above, who honestly know how it happened, if it was even planned or if it even matters to those that have the ability or power to change or stop it.
What is evident is that racial tensions across this nation are high, and instead of being appeased, reduced, or removed, it seems to be intentionally enflamed with action and words by people of influence, At a time when our country needs to be brought together, made stronger. This country was built and strengthen by force to obtain a resemblance of peace. We enter wars in foreign countries in the name of peace, to re-establish control or peace by force. It seems that they want us to believe that peace can not be obtained except by the sight of a rifle, destruction raining down from above, the maiming, the killing or by threatening to obliterate the people of the land that “picked” on us, our “friend" or our security. There way too many factors for an ordinary person, like myself to comprehend. I prefer to keep my sanity.
I learned in the Army that some information needs to be safeguarded because by maintaining its secrecy are we able to enjoy our freedom and life every day. With that being said, I do feel that if we are to trust one another, there must be transparency by making available to one another the common factors in every person's life. That is not harmful to oneself or one's family. A good example would be a person's worth, assets and finances. If you are legit, why hide or not disclose it? Will it hurt you, your persona or your safety?
Here’s one way trust can be earned. Do you have any improprieties that would jeopardize your personal freedoms? Do you stay within the written laws and regulations derived from the United States constitution? Are you a good example of your post that others would want to emulate you and your character? Have you or do you walk around with a chip on your shoulder? Do you feel that everyone is beneath you because of the position or power you wield, or do you give others the same respect you feel you deserve? Do you dislike me because of my heritage or sex or other personal preferences?
I do not believe that this country or the world will ever obtain the kind of peace we crave. Not every nation on this planet will ever walk hand in hand, side by side. It’s human nature to process at least one of the seven sins in the bible. There isn’t a single nation on this planet that can maintain or achieve peace within their own borders, much less beyond them. There is no possibility of even achieving the “peace” this country's forefathers wanted. The probabilities for this are beyond us.
I am not claiming to be an expert presenting information or research that has been conducted. I am not as worldly as over half of earth’s population. However, I have been to Canada, Central America and Europe plus 42 states. I do not possess a high level education degree. I do have an Associate of Arts degree plus some additional credits. I am a disabled veteran with 12.5 years on active duty, Infantry. I am just an American citizen.
And this is one man's view.
